Casting Workshop for Kids 8–12: Work a Scene With a Real Casting Director
Teens Ages 8–12
Tuesday, November 17
5:00 –6:00 PM
In this one-hour Zoom workshop, your child performs a scene with a reader, gets real casting notes from Angela Mickey, CSA, and then takes it again.
Auditions move fast. Your kid gets one shot, walks out, and never learns what the casting director wanted. Practicing at home helps, but it’s not the same as reading for someone who actually casts the shows they watch.
Angela is Managing Director of Casting at Liz Lewis Casting Partners. She has spent 25 years casting TV, film, animation and commercials, including Disney+’s SuperKitties and Netflix’s Dee and Friends in Oz.
How it works
Your child performs a scene with a reader.
Angela gives real casting notes.
They take it again, using the notes.
That second take is where the magic happens. Your child hears a note, makes the change, and feels the difference straight away. Taking direction on the spot is exactly what casting directors watch for.
There are only 8 spots, so every child gets real time with Angela.
Your child walks into their next audition knowing what a casting director wants, and having already done it once. They’ll feel less nervous and have more fun. And you get a very proud kid at the end of the call.
Cost: $75
